šŸ•ŠļøTeaching Health and Wellness in the Community #Purpose

Adding some flavor šŸŒ¶ļø!

🌿 Teaching the African Heritage Diet in Toledo, Ohio 🄘

This past week, I had the privilege of teaching a Culinary Nutrition & African Heritage class at the Wayman Palmer YMCA—a vibrant community space filled with heart, culture, and a real thirst for better health.

Rooted in tradition, flavor, and wellness, this class was more than a cooking demo—it was a celebration of food as medicine, ancestral wisdom, and community healing.

ā€œAs we cooked and connected, one participant asked,
Why aren’t more people like you doing this?ā€

That moment stayed with me. It was a powerful reminder that this work—this sharing of cultural nutrition and culinary skills—matters deeply.

šŸ–¤ The African Heritage Diet isn’t just about ingredients. It’s about identity, pride, and restoring health through the power of tradition.

Classroom became our Kitchen!

Culinary nutrition education meets people where they are, honoring culture while offering practical tools to transform health outcomes.

Food is powerful. And when we teach people how to nourish themselves with intention and cultural relevance, we don’t just change meals—we change lives.

Grateful to the Wayman Palmer YMCA of Toledo, OH and everyone who showed up ready to learn, share, and grow. ✨

Our newest education tool an induction stovetop! Worked perfectly!
