The days I’m not working from the office I have a small wellness routine that helps me stay sane. 😂
It’s fairly new, I started this routine in January after the holidays while I’m finding my rhythm of parenting a high schooler.
Mornings in our household are bustling Monday- Friday.
- Awake!
- Morning studying
- Quick motivation pep talk- trust me with a high schooler this is essential
- Get ready- which has become a thing for very same high schooler. The “fit” is everything!!
- Make breakfast- we commit to warm breakfasts for our teen weekdays. Food is brain fuel!
- Head to school!
Phew!! Once all this is done, and before I start my workday I need just a few minutes to process the morning, and re-center for work.
I sit down with a candle, my journal, and a smoothie for just 5 minutes (ok sometimes maybe 10 😉) to nourish myself. Your would be surprised how grounding this is.
🦸🏾♀️ Mom’s 5-Min “Whoosahhh” Smoothie 🧘🏾♀️
A calming, nourishing blend to help you reset, breathe, and restore.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1 cup lactose-free milk (or coconut milk)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon lavender spice
- 1 orange (peeled)
- 1 banana (peeled)
- 3 dried pitted dates
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Pour into your favorite glass.
- Take a moment… sip slowly, and whoosahhh.
