7 Food Gifts for Giving this Holiday Season!

Tis the season! So glad to have my writing “jeax” aka joy back! As I was cleaning up post holiday hosting, this idea came to me. Let’s hop back in at the Root of our Rooted Kitchens. Making the kitchen even more of an joyful experience.

This list is absolutely not comprehensive (or sponsored, yall already know) but it does include items that being me joy. I think this will be a fun part of the blog maybe even doing this once a month listing items that bring my Rooted Kitchen joy!

Crock Pot Dutch Oven $50-$70

Crock Pot Dutch Oven $50-80

This is by far the best Le Creuset dupe I’ve used. It’s very forgiving for a low level cook like me. It heats well on any setting, and cooks brilliantly covered or without based on what you are cooking. I am the one pot Queen during the weekdays, so these get used tons and tons in my household. Great for one pot meals, soups, or pretty much any run of the mill cooking a pot would normally take care of.

I usually find the best price on these at Home Goods.

Pro tip: including fresh squash inside with a bow would make a beautiful and delicious gift!

Paprika Trio- Sweet, Smoked, and Regular $4-$10

When building grocery lists, sometimes we forget spices can be costly additions to the bill! I’ve come to love and appreciate gifting spices when I teach classes as not only do they get to try something new, but it helps reduce the overall grocery bill!

Paprika is such a versatile spice! Paprika is made from dried, ground peppers, which are naturally high in vitamins A, E, and carotenoids. These nutrients support eye health, immune function, and inflammation reduction, making paprika a powerful “food-as-medicine” flavor builder.

Some compounds in paprika, like capsanthin, have been linked to improved cholesterol levels and better blood vessel function. Adding paprika to dishes is a simple way to layer in heart-supportive nutrients.

You can find these spices at Meijer, or Kroger.

Pro tip: Wrapping three of these with perhaps a beautiful pepper grinder would make a fun and useful gift!!

A Great Apron $30

As I travel for food as medicine classes, or cooking classes I’m often asked about my apron. I can’t with the boring solid colors, that I see in the kitchen. I knew early on in this journey energy needed to match for me to make this a lifestyle change. And so….

I have bought and gifted several aprons from this seller on Etsy. Based in Texas, you can count on quality and function with this gift. Give yourself at least 2 weeks for delivery.

Pro tip: An apron and a wooden spatula is such a classic gift! I would gift this to the host for a gathering I am attending.

Rotating Grain Storage Bin $29.99

Ok so full disclosure I do not own one of these, this comes at the recommendation of my Mom who swears by it. Let’s be clear, we can ALL use more grains in our diet. I wrote a post all about Whole Grains and why they are essential to our daily meals here.

I did get to see the device in action at her house, you can pre load it with all your favorite grains and simply grab a cup when needed.

Pro tip: I would gift this item with perhaps a few grains like quinoa, brown rice, or bulgar to get the person started.

Authentic Chai Tea Set $34.00

I stumbled across this delicious set while attending the Cincinnati Coffee Festival! This gift vibes “take a moment for you” with its beautiful colors, and aromatic scent.

Chai Time is a special ritual in India – it’s afternoon tea the Indian way, complete with chai and plenty of savory and sweet snacks, of course. The Chai Time Bundle is everything you need to bring this ritual home.

Since purchasing and on occasion, I take out this set and make it a momentous ritual to have tea.

Pro tip: I would gift this set with a beautiful tea mug. So mindful and thoughtful!

Infrared Meat Thermometer $23.00

No matter what meat or fish I am cooking this is right at my side!

Designed with the latest thermopile sensor technology, this infrared laser thermometer gun gives a temperature reading quickly! A safe kitchen is a delicious kitchen!

Pro tip: This gadget along with some delicious meat inspired spices would make a great gift combination!!

Oxo Fruit and Vegetable Chopper $25.00

Chopped veggies are the center of a few of my favorite veggies. This small but mighty device makes quick work of getting those veggies the right size!

This tool also makes great chopped fruit. As a dessert I use it to dice apples, pears, or any other fruit you’d like, with a bit of low sugar cool whip…. Yummmy!

Pro Tip: I would gift this item with fresh apples and a beautiful bowl that can sit on the counter. Ready to go!

Old ways Black-Eyed Pea Salad

Oh what fun it was to write… this post today hey! Happy gifting, and hey who says you can’t gift all these items for yourself….. no judgment!

Happy Cooking,

J
