Let’s Eat 🍽️ Friday Series: Grain Bowls!

By very popular demand from our first book signing, I heard LOUD and CLEAR the interest in food-based posts! My close family and friends can tell you, I am always eager to talk about healthy food. As I continue learning more and more each day about the various components of eating well sharing in this forum feels very natural! So, I’m dedicating Friday posts to a new series called:

Let’s Eat 🤤!!

In our first edition, I’m kicking off with a family favorite. GRAIN BOWLS! In our house, we usually set Grain Bowl Friday and place all the ingredients on the counter. Each family member can choose to their delight how they would like to build their bowl! Since every pallet is different, it gives us a chance to build nutritious ingredients in a way that is individualized.

With each layer, these bowls become POWER PACKED with healthy goodness. Some nutrients our bodies don’t produce, therefore with each bite it’s saying “thank you”!!

The below table gives a few examples to build a tasty bowl:

Grains (choose whole grains) 🌾red lentils, brown rice, quinoa, barley, fonio
Proteinchicken, salmon, beans, shrimp, tofu, nuts, egg, flaxseed, tuna
Healthy fatgoat cheese, avocado, oils
Vegetables (can be raw or cooked)roasted squash, Corn, arugala, spinach, kale, broccoli, peas, orange or red peppers
Herbscilantro, spices, basil, mint, parsley, chives
