🫖 Chai Say What!!! Pausing for Tea 💁🏾‍♀️

Down the Road Tea Company

🎊 Happy 2026 Friends! I hope the year is off to a great start and treating you well. I did ALOT of goal setting work at the end of the year, as I have so many big ideas but want to whittle them down to the most important to me. I let my word of the year guide me.

My word of the year

So the first goal I’ll reveal here is one that supports stress management.

Pause every day for tea time. Set timer and expand time each month.

🧠 Stress management is super important to me and lands on my goal list every year. I’ve also identified 3pm being my “stress hour” when I’m usually feeling decision fatigue. I quick meditative pause allows my mind to rest and recharge!

Chai Anyone?

In my zest to pause with delicious tea every day, gathering and organizing my supplies was first order of business. I pulled out this tea set with the MOST delicious chai I’ve ever had. It was so good, I gifted it to two colleagues this past holiday season!

Health Benefits

According to WebMD Chai is black tea mixed with a blend of homey and spices, including cardamom and cinnamon. It’s brewed with water, and milk is usually added.

Chai is a great source of antioxidants such as catechins and theaflavins. These fight oxidative stress and can play a role in preventing cancer and other conditions.

Chai typically includes ingredients that have many health benefits. But some varieties have a large amount of added sugar and about half as much caffeine as coffee. Talk to your doctor about drinking chai tea if you have certain medical conditions or have side effects from caffeine.

Down the Road Chai

While walking through a Coffee festival in the fall, I met the Owner and sampled this brand of chai. She was so warm and knowledgeable about the spices she uses in each batch. She explained the best way to prepare her chai. I was even more impressed seeing her entire family there in support of her business! So sweet!

Her family’s Chai Masala recipe is sweet and spicy with a tiny touch of smoky black cardamom for a perfectly balanced blend. They grind and blend the freshest single-origin organic spices to bring you a wildly delicious cup of chai.

Tea Snacks! White Chocolate Alegria Bites

White Chocolate Alegria Bites

So tea snacks are a must when I’m sitting down to have a “pause moment”. Also while at the Coffee fest I came across this snack. What truly intrigued me about these snacks is that they were made from ancient whole grains.

At the heart of our Alegria Bites are the light and nutritious puffs of ancient grains – millet, amaranth, and quinoa. Each grain is carefully selected for its quality and nutritional value, offering a delightful airy bite that complements the creamy chocolate.

I love to pair these bites in my snack bags or with some delicious afternoon tea.

Who’s in? 🙋🏾‍♀️ Let’s build in a pause for 2026!

Happy Pausing,

J
